Overview

The African Journal of Oral Health (AJOH) is a peer-reviewed, open-access biannual bi-annual publication of the International Association for Dental Research — Nigeria Division (IADR-NIG). Founded under the editorship of Professor Eyitope O. Ogunbodede, the journal has served as a leading platform for the dissemination of oral health research with particular relevance to Africa and other low-to-middle income settings.

AJOH publishes original research, case reports, systematic reviews, clinical practice articles, letters to the editor, and review articles that advance the understanding, prevention, and management of oral diseases across the African continent and beyond. The journal is committed to open access publishing, ensuring that its content is freely available to researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and oral health advocates worldwide.

Publication Ethics

The African Journal of Oral Health is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics and quality. The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to the principles set out in the ICMJE Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals.

Specifically, AJOH upholds the following principles:

• Conflict of interest: All authors must disclose any financial or non-financial competing interests that could influence the interpretation of their findings.

• Corrections and retractions: The journal will publish corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions where evidence of error or misconduct is established, following COPE guidelines.
